Version Numbers

Versions numbers are used to designate the versions of our products. Whenever there are major function changes to a product, we increase either its major or minor version number, or both. When you see the version number listed here on this web site is larger than that of the product you're using, it means there have been new functions added. Unless announced otherwise, version upgrades are usually free. You can download and install the new version over the old one without any extra charges.

Build Numbers

Other than major function changes (which are very visible to users), we also make releases when there are internal implementation changes (which usually are invisible to users). Such changes include bug fixes, performance improvements, minor usability improvements, software algorithm or logic changes, or even minor and less important function changes. To clearly identify such changes, we use Build Numbers such as 0631, 0643, etc. When you see the build number of a product is greater than the one you're using, you are encouraged to download and install it. Such releases are always free of charge and requires no extra procedures in installation. You can always install it over the old build that you're currently using.

In any case, you are encouraged to visit back our web site from time to time to see if there are new versions or builds released.

There won't be descriptions about what changes have been made in a maintenance release, nor will there be announcements for maintenance releases. That's why they are sometimes called "silent" releases.
