-
Exchange rates -- When entering a transaction
that involves foreign currencies, current exchange rates are remembered so that
when they fluctuate in the future, past information won't be affected.

alphabetically sorted, you can sort them any way you want. Try the Up and
Down buttons in the Lists: Accounts menu command.

because they are replaced by the new Report function.

renamed and moved to File: Password.
-
A new menu command Lists: Account Groups has
been added. This is not a new function, it only provides one more entry point
for an existing function.
What's New in v3.8
Data Encryption
When a database is assigned with a password, all data in the .amw file will
be encrypted so that even when someone gains access to that file, it will
virtually be impossible for him to break into that file and pry into your
privacy.
What's New in v3.7
Budget Planning View
A new Budget Planning view which makes budget editing for the whole year a
lot easier.
Purge Payees Command
This new command lets you remove inactive payees, i.e., payees that are
rarely used or haven't been used for a long time. It helps reduce the number
of items in the payees list.
10-Level Undo/Redo
You can undo/redo for up to 10 steps. A new option "Enable undo/redo" is
added to the Preferences dialog box.
Other Improvements
- Insert upcoming scheduled transactions by tapping on "S" transactions in
the Transaction Log or Account Register views.
- Improved performance for importing QIF/OFX files, noticeable especially
when there are thousands of records.
What's New in v3.6
Automatic Processing for Scheduled Transactions
In this version, when a scheduled transaction is due, the user can choose
how to handle it. Options are: Automatically insert a new transaction into the
database; display a message to prompt the user to see how to do with it; or
use Reminder to issue reminding messages a few days before it's due. A new
command is added: Tools: Reminder Options.
Optionally Enable/Disable Data Sync with a Palm OS Handheld
A new command Tools: HotSync with Palm Handheld is added so that the
user can decide if he/she wants to synchronize data with a Palm OS handheld.
Other Improvements
- Two new columns are added to the Scheduled Transaction view: Processing,
Payee.
- One new column is added to both the Register and Transaction Log view:
Exlucded.
- Double clicking on a row in the Accounts List view brings you to the
Regsiter view.
- Added a Use fiscal year option in the trend chart options dialog
box
- Remembers screen size used in the last session
- Displays longer text in the Note columns of all table-based views
What's New in v3.5
Chart Views
Three chart views are added in this version: Cash Flow view shows you the
change in account balances using a line chart; Pie Chart summarizes income or
expenses bases on categories, payees, or classes; Trend chart shows the trend
of changes in income or expense over a period of time. All these chart views
can also be printed out in hard copies.
Unrealized transactions
Unrealized transactions are like scheduled transactions in that they
haven't happened yet. The difference is they don’t repeat; they happen only
once. You can enter an unrealized transaction into Money as a reminder to
yourself that there is a transaction will happen some time in the future. Such
transactions are not included in the calculation of income and expense, and do
not affect the display of an account's ending balances. But they do affect the
running balance (the balance shown in each row in the table) in the Account
Register view, and the Cash Flow chart.
You can show/hide unrealized transactions by using options from the
Preferences dialog box.
Transfers as Income or Expense
In previous versions, transfer transactions are never counted in when
calculating income or expense. In this version, when defining an account, you
can specify how transfers into or out from will this account be treated when
calculating income/expense. You can select: 1. Transfers are not included as
before; 2. all transfers into this account should be counted as expense; 3.
all transfers out from this account should be counted as income. An option is
added in the Preference dialog box so that you can decide whether this feature
should be enabled or disabled. Your options are: 1. Disabled, that is,
everything will be like before, transfers are not counted; 2. Enable for all
accounts, that is, transfers are treated in the way as specified in the
account definition as described earlier; 3. Enable only for accounts that are
not included in the filter in effect. If there is no filter in effect, then it
will be just like before.
Excluded Transaction
A new attribute is added to transactions -- Excluded. On every aspect,
"Excluded" transactions are exactly the same as ordinary transactions with one
exception -- When a transaction is marked as Excluded, it will never be
included in the calculation of income and expense, no matter what category it
has been assigned to. Setting a transaction to Excluded affects only the
income/expense, but will never affect the calculation for other
account-related information, such as balance, withdraw, deposit, transfer-in,
and transfer-out.
To support this new attribute, a new filter criteria "Excluded" is also
added in Filter dialog box.
Import of OFX Files
In addition to QIF files, now you can import transactions from OFX (Open
Financial Exchange) files.
Other Improvements
- A pair of buttons is added to the toolbar to let you easily navigate
back and forth among views.
- A few new options are added to the Preferences dialog box to select how
unscheduled and upcoming scheduled transactions should be displayed.
- A new command "Make Same Width" is added to the View menu so that you
can set several columns in the table to the same width at a time.
- Right-clicking on the table header now brings up a pop-up menu which
lets you swap columns. This is an easier way for you to choose the column
you wan to see in the table.
- A new repeating option for scheduled transactions is added: the “Every
weekday” option.
- When printing, contents in the Summary pane are also printed.
- When importing from QIF (and OFX alike) files, a new option lets you
compare imported transactions with existing ones. You can also choose the
date difference tolerance while matching for identical transactions.
