Define a category and budget Budget management is a big part of Adarian Money for Windows -- a complete personal finance software.

 To start managing your budget, simply define a few expense categories, such as "Auto", "Clothing", "Grocery", ..., etc. Then, assign each month's budget for each category.

 
Over-budget alert Over-budget Alert -- Now, whenever you enter a new expense, the program will check the total actual expense on that category. If it's about to be over the budget, an alert will be issued automatically. This alert gives you a heads-up that you have to be more careful when spending money on that category.

Current Status report There are many ways in the program to let you review the budget situation. For example, the Current Status report. This report, which is a  summary of the overall financial status, has a section that clearly shows all the categories that are "at risk."
 

Categories/Budget view Another place is the Categories/Budget view. It gives you an overview of this month's (or any period's) budget situation. This view tells you the budget of each category, how much has been spent, how much is left available, etc.
 
Roll-Over BudgetBudget Roll-Over is a function that when there is unused budget in the last month, you can optionally carry-over the unused part to to the next month, which means you have more budget in the next month and you can spend more!
 

Budget Planning viewEditing Budget -- With Adarian Money for Windows, editing a whole year's budget is easy. The unique Budget Planning view gives the user an Excel-like user interface so that all the categories and their 12-month budget amounts are laid out right in front of you, you can edit them easily just like editing a spreadsheet.
