Budget Management
Adarian Money for Windows Mobile is a great budget and expense tracking tool. You can set up the monthly budget plan for each of your expense categories. For example, the expense for the "Gift" category is $0 for normal months; but July is your mother's birthday, so you set the gift budget for July to $100. And of course, Christmas is a big holiday season, so you set it to $1,000 for December.
If there is unused budget (or overage), the unused part (or overage) can be rolled over to the next month. You can also set up an alert level for each category so that when spending has reached that level, the program will give you a heads-up warning so that you know you need to watch it.
With Adarian Money for Windows Mobile, you can easily get to know how much you have spent, and how much left available. And, if you also have the Windows version of Adarian Money, you will find that there are more options for you to manage your budget. For example, with the help of PC's big screen and a real keyboard, you can use a spreadsheet-like user interface to edit the whole year's budget easily.

To start managing
the budget, simply define a few categories (or sub-categories) such
"Auto", "Auto : Fuel", "Auto : Service", ..., etc:
Then, assign
each month's budget and alert levels: (Alert levels are usually a little
lower than the budget, so that when the actual expense is over the alert
level, you still can get a heads-up alert.)
Now,
whenever you create or modify a transaction, the program
would check the total actual expense on the affected categories. If an over-budget
is found, an alert would be issued automatically:
Budget
Roll-Over is a feature that when there is unused budget (or overage) in a month,
you can carry it over the to the next month so that next month's budget
becomes more (or less).
To
get a better view of this month's (or any period's) budget situation, you can go to the Categories/Budget
view. This view tells you the budget of each category, how much has been
spent, how much is left, and the percentage.
Also, in the Current Status
report, which
displays the overall current financial status, there is a section that
gives you budget information.
